What is Colorado Aware?

Colorado Aware is an open-source mobile application enabling utility partners and consumers to share information and collaborate real time.
The application with serve users by notifying them during times of overload or stress on the energy grid. Users are asked to help support the stability of the grid by turning off devices or appliances. Saving them both money and managing the risk of outages in their neighborhoods. At the same time, utility partners can pull data from the app to make better predictions about the demand on the grid.
Colorado Aware is designed as a change management approach to large scale change. Over time, the application will build in more and more components of web3 infrastructure, and transition users into a blockchain environment. Whereby, we will enable rewards for supplying your energy data and help users identify and manage the distributed energy resources in their homes (solar, wind, electric vehicles, etc.).
The idea for the application was inspired by the EthDenver 2022 Hackathon - where the team placed Top 30, presented to industry leaders, including Vitalik Buterin and Griff Green, and won $13,000 in prize money.
Today, we are continuing to build the mobile app as well as expand the vision of blockchain in the energy environment.
